Anyone know which indicator is best/would reach for checking my backlash?
I found a few different ones here.

I don't want to get the wrong one, only to find that it won't reach.
Also, should I need to mess with the depth at all if I'm not removing the pinion? I just want to swap out the differential and keep the same ring gear, so couldn't I just mark where the two gears mesh, leave the pinion alone, and adjust the carrier shims so the ring will mate back up with the pinion?
Then I'd use the marking compound to make sure they were meshing right.
I'm new to this, but I want to do it right.
I still don't know how my 3.23's will look after 135k, but I hope they're still alright... Otherwise I'll be switching out to 3.42's and if I do, I'll need to know about pinion depth. And I'll have to pay PolkPerformance to change my computer's info. (Since my $400 DHP tuner won't even connect.) WASTE-OF-MONEY. No wonder they're out of business.
Thanks in advance.
