These axles fit a 98' Camaro - Why are they different???

The one on the left has the shoulder for the 4 channel ABS ring. If the center hub is the sames size as the ones in your car they should work.

I have no idea what you mean by center hub.

Ive been told that I can use a 4 channel as long as I take off the reluctor ring, IIRC. If Im correct, Im guessing the one on this one has been taken off.

If they are both from 98's you will have no problems. The center hub is the raised center inside the circle of studs, It changed diameters from 96 or 7 to 98. You shouldn't have to remove the reluctor to use it on a 3 channel ABS car, it would just be extra parts. The brakes are the same regardless of being 3 or 4 channel.
