Raido Turns Off!!!!!! UGHHH

Ok My radio and windows will magically turn off and then come back on after I smack under the glove box I have figured out it is the BCM but im stumpped from here what can I do to fix it so my radio wont turn off and my windows will roll up it seems when I wiggle the harness around it goes crazy.....has anybody fixed this problem easily

mine does that too ... it only does it once in a while so i havent pulled anything apart or done much research yet

from what i've heard there is something in the bcm that needs to be resoldered ... im not really sure though

yup body control module located behind the glove box take it off and wiggle the squares to witch one is loose resolder and ur golden

30 minute fix...I had the same problem.

Pull the BCM module out (disconnect the battery first). Then pull the circuit board out of the black box (be careful and make sure you ground yourself before you touch it, you don't want to short anything out.) Take the circuit board and look to the upper right hand side of it, you will see 5 solder points that are in the shape of a "T"... Take some solder and a soldering gun, and resolder all 5 points...reinstall it and your issues are gone...

ok I did that they all seem to be tight, I think its with the actual plug harness...does ayone know how to fix that or a place to buy a new one for fairly cheep lol?

Its not...it is one of those solder joints that is in the shape of a T...it may not even "appear" to be cracked or loose, but there is probably an air bubble or something in there...believe me, mine looked like it was fine, and I looked at it very closely...I proceeded to heat up the 5 solder joints and added some new solder to those 5 spots and it fixed the problem.

This fix was sticked over at LS1tech, but it has since been removed...you are not the first one to have this problem, many people have fixed this issue by following this guide.

If you need help locating the exact location, snap a picture of the circuit board, and I will circle it for you.

FIIXED AHHHHH....lol thanks LETZRIDE I thought for sure it was he plug but I just heated up all the old solder and addred a touch of new and all fixed THANKS ALOT!! so now my radio wont turn off on a good song :tup:

np...I was skeptical at first too when I looked at all the solder joints and mine looked perfectly fine...I was about to go out and buy a new BCM (200$)...

so to get to the bcm do you have to remove the black pannel under the glove box?

gahhh when i pull my car out of storage next spring, this will be on of the first things i replace. My sony deck has been doing the same thing for a year now, at one point this summer, while on a cruise to the michigan fbody meet n greet, i didnt have music for like 2 hours...:( glad to hear this procedure worked!
