Alarm Problem: Once I hit lock button 5 secs later it goes off
Alarm Problem: Once I hit lock button 5 secs later it goes off
My alarm on my '00 Camaro goes off about 5 seconds after I hit the lock button on my keyless entry pad. What all could be wrong with it?
My horn also doesn't work anymore either so it doesn't sound but the lights flash when the alarm goes off. Horn also doesn't work when you push the center of the steering wheel.

What he said^^
If that solves the problem, take the sensor out of the car and dry it out real good, a few days or so. Then put it in a plastic bag or something and stick it back in. I just covered mine in saran wrap and it solved the problem. The problem was that the weatherstripping on the hatch was leaking water into the quarter panel, right on to the shock sensor. It filled up with water and shorted the circuit.
This of course is assuming that it's raining where you are currently. Otherwise you might have a bad shock sensor, or if unplugging it doesn't work, you may have a bad sensor in either door or the hatch telling the car it's closed.
Re: Alarm Problem: Once I hit lock button 5 secs later it goes off
So I unplugged the alarm in the rear a few days ago but haven't plugged it back in yet. I was looking under the spare tire and there was water down there so I think that's what caused it for sure, if it dries out fully will it be ok or is it wise to find a used one and replace it?
