Keyless Transmitter Not Working

Neither key fob works for anything on my 97 Firebird. Batteries are good. Anyone know where to start troubleshooting this problem? Thanks.

How do you know the batteries are good? Are they new? Mine only gives me trouble when the batteries are dead. Good luck...

Yep, I checked new batteries with a voltmeter. Yes, I did the install. The locks moved but when I held the fob buttons for 16 seconds, I heard a noise from the BCM but nothing else happened.

I had a problem with my 94 camaro's remote recently. I don't know if they are similar but I took the remote apart and used a pencil eraser on the contacts and it works fine now.

Your BCM may be bad.
