well, the passenger side went nuts about a month ago, got so hot that the damn thing melted the knob on top of the motor, so when that happened, the drivers side one stopped working, i know that when one goes out the other will do all sorts of crazy shiz so i chalked it up to that. well, i replaced the passenger side with a new one, when i plug it in it seems to have a mind of its own, it'll go up and down whenever the hell it wants to, the drivers side one still doesnt do anything though. i thought maybe that motor was bad but i dont think thats the problem.
here's the odd thing though, when the passenger one went, i hadnt used them all day and probably been 2 weeks or so prior to that. once its dark out im usually in for the night now so its rare that i go out at night. if i do i just take the wifes car anyways. the morning it happened, i stopped to get gas on the way to work, got my gas and everythign was fine, but by the time i got to work something went crazy in there because i pulled up to park, notice smoke rolling out from under the hood like crazy and all sorts of crazy noise, first thing im thinking is i done blew the motor or something lol, so i pop the hood and realize its the headlight motor going nuts.

the module senses a high load on the motor and cuts the power, it sounds like it's not doing that anymore. Replacing the module should fix your problems, if you keep using it with the new motor you will be buying another.
