Re: Ignition Control Module Went Bad Again!

You could have a pending code, but just shutting off , maybe fuel pump, pcm , or alot of different problems it could be, that why someone with a scanner can see if everythng is working, a fuel injector if it is #1 cyl. will make it shut off, relays and fuses also. So just trying to help but if you got it under control I'll leave my comment out.

i took my ICM off and took it to advance auto, they plugged it up to a machine and did full cycle checks to just the ICM. also consider that once the system goes into closed mode the ICM turns spark control over to the PCM and just acts as a pass-through.

Are you talking about putting fins on the ICM or something? Ive never heard of using heat sink to replace the ICM. Educate me.

Heat sink compound, thermal transfer paste. It's what's used on a computer processosr to transfer heat away from the processor and into the heat sink. smear a fine layer on the bottom of the ICM where it sits into the metal cradle.

the crankshaft sensor tells the comp when 2 fire and fuel not gunna fry n.e thing are you sure they are bad when you take them off? the crank sensor sends the RPM 2 the comp 2 fire at the right time if that has a loose connection or is starting 2 die the comp wont get the say so 2 fire

Ok, I scanned my car with the OBD2 scanner and pulled up this code...p0147

"O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction Bank 2 Sensor 1"

Would this have to do with my current stalling problem as listed above?

im pretty sure all that is is so the o2 sensor gets the correct reading at colder temps

Is that the only code it showed? You might need a more advanced scanner. I've had more problems than what some scanners actually showed me.

best way 2 do it is have someone with a scanner that will show info not gust a code it will show you everything the computer is getting back from the cars sensors only problem is it costs $$ . best way is to have a school that cant make profet do it...thats what i did.
