The front turn signal housings become dull with age (wind and dirt constantly hitting the lens) plus the interior gets very discolored (the hot bulbs illuminate all the time when the engine is on).
I ordered new ones - this is actually the second time I've replaced my front turn signals / parking light housings. They are easy to replace - put the headlights up and open the access panel below (2 bolts). Remove the parking light bulb & receptacle from the housing. I raised up the car with a floor jack to make it easier to reach under the car. Loosen the three tin nuts on the housing. You do not have to remove the bolts all the way - the housing will lift up and out of the three spots where it is bolted down. Once you get the housing out, then take the tin nuts. Reverse this procedures to put the light housing and everything back together.
I replaced the first set at about 90,000 miles/ 5 years and then replaced the second set at about 176,000 miles / 9.8 years.
