less solder is better than a lot of solder

you can just heat it up...maybe add a touch of solder...but heating it up so that it melts then rehardens is probably enough...I added a little because I didnt wanna have to do it twice if it wasnt enough...all you are really fixing is the fact that somewhere in those joints there is cracks that is causeing the connection to be broken...

yes, i agree, just heat it up with the solder pencil until it melts then QUICKLY remove the pencil, and you will get a perfect joint.

i see people globbing solder everywhere, and getting mad because what they did didnt work

and a note, add the solder to the board, and not the pencil

Ya...make sure you do this or the joint will be sh*t...and if you do add solder, make sure that it is not alot, and NOT touching any of the other joints....thats probably why some people have problems, is they add soo much that it touches the joint beside it...

                      Re: bcm solder points

Im currently doing this myself. BCM came out relatively easy, now to apply the heat and see if it works.
Thanks all for the write-up and advice.

                        Re: bcm solder points

Well I followed the directions to a "T" and also read the thread over at LSI forums and no luck. Still no power locks, lights on the mirror or rear defrost. I put my gun right on all points until the solder melted.

Does anyone know what each of those relays are?

One of them keeps clicking every 15 seconds.

                            Re: bcm solder points

Yea, on the third attempt I added solder. Like I had said, I have one of the relays clicking every 15 seconds and I believe it is the one in question. It had been clicking after I lost the electronics mentioned and decided to do this repair.
