Im not really good with anything thats electrical and I am in desparate need of some help. I have a 94 Camaro and lastnight when I was driving for no reason the car just completly shuts down: Engine, lights everything. This has never happend to me before and I was wondering what could it be???? Anybody ever had this problem????
So, I spoke to my father and he said that it might be a fuse/ relay called "main". We've been searching for that thing all day... Would anyone know where the "main" is located????
I checked all the fuses and relays under the hood and none of them are the main :(. The only ones that are in that box are A/C, Anti lock brake, Coolant fan, Air pump, 2nd Coolant fan, ASR, and Fogs. I bought a new battery today to see if maybe it would crank up but nothing aswell.
It was completly dead, Lights, radio, engine, nothing turned on. I finally figured out what it was. I have no idea what it's called but there's a red box that connects to the battery and that thing was a disgusting. So what I did was go to the junkyard by my house and I replaced that piece. Thanks for trying to help me out dude:)
no problem, just curious, was the red box kinda like a ground box for the car or somethin. my friend had a similar problem with his 2000 impala just wondering if it was the same problem.
This is the only picture that I could find online. I circled the piece that I was talking about. I guess that you could say that it works like a ground.
Yeah, it's basically the connection where most of your accessories and vitals feed power off of. A distribution center if you will. Mine was severely corroded as well, as was causing stereo problems. Cleaning it up fixed more than just that.
