That will work. The ballasts I bought were actually pre-applied with adhesive backs though.

Im ordering my set right now...whats with the harnessing and switches though? Do I need to use those, or will I be fine just tapping into the existing lines?

It's handy stuff to have, I used it for the install of my Buick's fog and driving lights. But no, you won't need it for this install, the current headlight wiring is better suited already.

Which beam patterns did you decide to go with?

              Fog or driving beam pattern?

The link I posted was for driving lights; that's what I used. But I described the difference between the two in my first post. Chances are driving lights are best suited but I can't speak for the fog version as I haven't seen them in person.

                  Re: Hella FF75 headlights

Thanks. Yeah, they are truly night and day. I honestly couldn't hardly tell the difference between stock low beams and high beams once I installed my 90mm projectors in place of the fogs. Now the low beams are 10x more effective than the stock high beams, and the high beams are just ridiculous. I'm not sure I've ever driven around with just the FF75s on, but they are the perfect addition to the projectors and I'm sure they'll hold their own as dedicated headlights.

Like I said, they have a beam pattern similar to that of the stock sealed beams, just extremely exaggerated. So if you have some basic fog lights to fill in the area directly in front of the car, you'll have better headlights than you'll ever need.

                      Re: Hella FF75 headlights

I still run both (high/low beam) my stock headlights with both with 6000 HID's and I have them pointed so that is doesn't blind other drivers while both are on and they will light up the road like its almost daytime.LOL J/K not that bright, but I can see signs alot further ahead. I can't run fogs do to my front mount setup but I still plan on using the fog light wiring for 2 front mount fans 10"ers as pushers(one on my tranny cooler/ A/C condenser) and will have my high flow fans like the stock as pullers and will be able to use the fog light switch to turn on the pusher fans. I think it should be pretty cool if it works out. I want a cool running car this summer , no running over 200 degrees. Trying to stay at 190 degrees and below.

It's been so long since I had stock fog lights I don't remember anything about them. Even without fog lights though, they are incredible headlights, they just don't fill in the area right in front of your car very evenly, but that's not really a disadvantage I guess, I just like it to be daytime in front of me without blinding everyone else :P

                          Re: Hella FF75 headlights

lights came in today...I only had time to install the high beams...did you have a problem with them not sitting flat? they seem to want to angle upwards on one side if I use a washer between the bracket and the head of the bolt...I see what you mean about washers to, I used 15 of them to get the light sitting on the bumper there.

I think you mentioned you wanted to get a longer bolt to move the light down a little more? the bolt is an M8 bolt...I got m8 x 35mm bolts and it works nice...I drilled through the plastic piece that goes across the car there, is that how you did it?

How did you go about aiming the lights and setting them so that it does not aim too high or too far left/right? seems like that might be a little bit of a task seeing how it only has the one bolt. (up down shouldn't be too difficult because of the side bolts that go into the mount there)

Do you have pictures of what you're talking about? I didn't have any problems with crooked mounting. Is your header panel warped at all?

I'll keep that in mind. The washers I used were quite thick so I think I only fit 5 but it might be nice to have them come down a bit more. But yeah, I drilled through the header panel to mount them and just used washers on either side. Some people will make up a bracket from some kind of steel or aluminum to reinforce the panel, but I didn't find that necessary.

Aiming was quite easy actually, you just don't tighten the main bolt fully, go someplace and aim the lights just by turning it side to side and up and down and then tighten up the bolt. I think I'm even able to aim them just a bit when it's tight, just takes a little more muscle.

well I fixed the crooked look by not using a washer between the bolt and the bracket, for some reason it cocked both lights up on an angle...like one side of the light would be up the other would be down, like I have slanted eyes like those japanese cartoons lol...did you aim the lights to any specific height slash angle? Im going out to do the headlights now.

Nothing specific, I just found a long straight pitch black road with no traffic and aimed them to seamlessly extend my projectors beam pattern. I'd say the low beams project 150 ft at the end, and the high beams are maybe 250ft. The high beams are almost level, just a tad aimed down.

I always liked opening all these images in separate tabs and switching between them..
