  • Windows. Autotrix kit.

I hate power windows on fbodys because they always seems to have issues.

My car is a 96 with only 120k on it total. what don't get is now I have to buy replacements motors?.

Ever since I bought my car its been giving me issues rolling up and down. its pretty bad so I don't even bother with the damn thing anymore. However it kind of sucks not having windows that can roll up or down.

What I don't understand is my dodge intrepid has 140k on it and has been far more abused than my camaro and yet the windows work perfectly in that. I don't want to waste 300+ on new window motors and have to repay again in the near future the same price.

I heard about the Autotrix kit. Has anyone used them before?. How does their kit work?.

hmm. I would like some info on this. basicly looks like for 60 nucks total you get some damn good windows. I hate the F body windows.

I thought the kit only speeds up the passenger side window? since the passenger side window feeds its power from the driver side so it takes twice as long.

where as the driver side is the "normal" speed so its just fixing the passenger side and overall helping to make the motor last longer on the passenger side?

                  Re: Windows. Autotrix kit.

the kit will fix your problems...somewhat. Sicne the passenger side is no longer piggybacking off the drivers side power the motor will last longer. Also drivers side motor will last longer.

Some tips to keep your motors longer:
                  -get the autotrix kit
-dont put up or down both windows at same time
-when the windows up, let go of the button. If you hold it to long your killing the motor
                  -keep the window hinges/tracks greased.

Lots of crap to make your windows last, but hell thats GM for ya!

yup, and my window motors have lifetime warratny. Just pop out the receipt and I got another motor for free. Now that all my rivets are drilled out, changing the windows doesnt take long.

I'll stick with my roll down windows. Yes they can be kind of a pain in the butt, but better then having all the trouble with the power f-body windows.
