Totally Newb question

Ok a while ago, my flasher relay **** the bed. I took it to Autozone (Big Mistake) and they looked up in their computer which one would work for my car, rather than matching the numbers from the relay like a regular person. I got the relay, put it in, and it works...sorta. It works but it takes like two seconds to come on, which pisses the hell out of me. So I went back and got another one, it only works on the right side, so I went back and got another, which didn't work at all. By now I've lost my original flasher relay due to my own incompetence and am stuck with a ****ty relay. I have a 97 camaro rs, anyone know exactly which model number relay I need?

At the Autozone I went to there were only two compatible relays; the cheap $3 one and the bulkier $9 one. I actually threw out the box last week, but I'll see if I can find the receipt.

Upon a second glance, this looks like it (minus the "electronic" writing across the casing).

In the meantime, check the bulbs to make sure they're both still good and that the sockets aren't burnt or bad.

ya the bulbs are fine, and I had already replaced them in between the incidents of this saga. It's been going on about a year lol

I had the same problem once with Checker, they ordered the part and I put it in , in the parking lot and didn't work, I put it back in the box and noticed it had a black marker strip on back, went back in and they said we will order another one and they went to put the other one in back I told them you should write bad on the box so noone tries to sell it over again like they did it to me.
