Oh and what did you guys do to get rid of the bucket. Or can you just use the bucket with the 255?

My walbro 255 was plug & play on my 96' Camaro, I ditched the bucket and used hose clamps to tie it together. Very easy install.

this pump keeps the ventri provisions so you do not have to cut the bucket

not sure if that pump will work for the 97 though

Just a big enough clamp to clamp everything together, I think I used 1 top ,1 bottom. Can't remember.

I just found one online that said it will fit every model engine and year from 1985-2002 camaro, firebird, and coorvette. Comes with an installation kit. Not really sure what that consists of. Its only $99.

theyve also got one for $69 but it says it will take minor modifications. The question is what kind of modifications?

Need to watch out for the china knock offs or you'll be sitting on the side of the road. Contact 97RS4life he sells Walbro 255's and they won't be knock off's , their the real deal and ask him for install directions since he has a 97' Camaro with a 255. I can't remember his website, sorry. Just PM him to see what deal he can set you up with, if their not over $100 at least then there is something fishy and I would not want to smell it. LOL

If you have a 97' the Walbro 255 is plug and play, just ditch the bucket and hose clamp everything together. Real easy, if your running boost I would get the high flow 255 walbro pump , I have been running mine for 8-9 years.

i ordered the cheaper on (the one that said minor modification is needed). so im guessing you bought the more expensive one.

ok so that second one should be the same as installing a WALBRO?
