  • Battery draining

Over the last month my battery has been dead a few times in the mornings. It doesn't happen every day but randomly. After the second time I made sure the dome light wasn't on or anything else electrical. I drive it daily so it's not sitting very long. The battery may be strong for 4-5 days at a time and then suddenly the next morning it's dead. The alternator is working fine and the battery is new and also fine.

BTW the ABS light has come on a couple times this month and then would go off if I restarted the car. Could this be part of the problem?

If anyone has experienced this before and could give me some advice on where to start checking I'd sure appreciate it.

    Re: Battery draining

I had a similar problem a few weeks ago.

I'd get the battery tested and the alternator tested to be sure first.

      Re: Battery draining

any aftermarket audio or electronics on your car?

Something might be shorting or draining your battery and triggering the abs light. Ive seen weirder things happen on these cars.

There is an aftermarket stereo. I'll check the wiring then maybe disconnect it for a little while and see if the problem stops. Thanks for the idea.

          Yeah, theres probably a draw.

If you're lazy, get a trickle charger.
