  • I got my 2 stage motion sensor installed

I got my sensor installed today for my Viper alarm , paid $32 shipped on ebay, and $30 for it to be installed. Has the stage 1 motion sensor for inside the car so if the windows are down the full alarm will sound and then the stage 2 for outside the car if someone gets too close it will chirp at them. Also has the reg. shock sensor that came with the alarm. I had it mounted in my center console so i can adjust it if I want. The alarm pages me so if their already in the car the sensor doesn't matter. LOL But it makes it alot more accurate and I already had a hole in the console from my nitrous bottle opener so it was easy to run for him so he wrote the ticket up as if I bought the sensor from Best Buy so it will be warrantied by them if it goes bad. Cool dude. I have to admit I like this sensor alot. Esp. if you live in a not so good area, with alot of kids running around. Alarm Viper 3002 and its a dual zone sensor, Best buy wanted $103 for it , Viper wanted $87 and I got it on ebay for $32 shipped and it plugs right in, model # 508D.

whoa whoa whoa... You're telling me your car will chirp if someone gets too close to it?! I want!

I've got the Clifford 50.5x (with the 2-way paging thing), same company that makes viper. Do you know if that motion sensor will work with my system?

Yes, it chirps 3 times and will keep on chirping until there gone, doesn't set the alarm off until either the shock sensor is tripped , doors opened or stage 1 motion sensor is tripped. Don't know if it will work with yours , but look up the model # and it will give you the models it works on. I like it because you can leave your windows down if your running in and the interior alarm will sound stage 1 and set off the car alarm. I have the 2 way paging also on my remote, that lights up and says which door is open when it is set off. I think I saw clifford on there it was a long list since DEI makes alot of stuff for CO., I would of installed it but I couldn't get under the dash without hurting my back. For $32 its worth it.

Sounds like we have similar models. Mine has the LCD screen that lights up and vibrates/beeps when the alarm is set off and it shows which trigger set it. I'll have to check that out, it would be awesome. You got both stage 1 and 2 for the $32?

Yes , its one sensor that has both stages, interior and exterior , ebay $32 beats $103+ tax at best buy. You should be able to install it your self its plug and play into the alarm and then just set the 2 stages which they have water proof plugs in them which you pop out and just turn the sensor where you want. I'll get a pic of mine that is installed so you can see. Did you find out if it works on yours? I know it had Python alarms and etc. so I would imagine it would work on yours. I just thought of this last night of setting stage 1 interior so that it goes past the windows just a bit so if someone leans on it , it will chirp the 3 times and then set off the main alarm since they triggered the stage 1. Just extra security. Besides the shock sensor. I wouldn't buy a alarm any more if it didn't have a pager of some kind, having it on the alarm key is just a plus. I had my old Clifford Matix with a auto page seperate pager when I first boght my car but it was a pain having the pager to carry around.Heres what mine looks like and it says clifford on it also, so you might be in luck.

Heres a pic where its installed in the center console, I turned up the inside stage 1 sensor and now if someone is leaned up on the car or goes to touch the windows or doors the alarm will go off. I love it!

Can I pile stuff on top of it or do I not get to use the center console anymore? I do use the center console but it's not all that vital, mostly just a stack of MP3 CDs and gas receipts.

I contacted the seller to see if it will work with my system as I couldn't find any other info. If it does, I'll definitely be buying one.

You could mount it on the side I think with velcro, he was going to velrco mine in but I just said srecw it down since I don't really use it except for papers and little stuff. If you don't want to mess with it just mount it underneath the center console.

see the thing I see about this, is it pisses people off when alarms go off...and for it to start chirping at someone just because they are close to the car...I can see someone keying it for pissing them off.

I do like the interior motion sensor though...I leave my windows down alot...can I just get the interior version and not the exterior motion?

I got mine about 4 days but I'm out west GR8, LetZride, I got it mainly for at home since its a bad area, I'm also pissed that people like to open their door and put scratches in it, so this way I can have the interior set beyond the inside and if they you ding or scratch it , it will not only chirp but set off the alarm , then I can go see who did it. I don't drive much but when I do someone always tries to park too close. I usually go to the Dr.s so its the old people who park too close and try to open their huge doors of their big cars. LOL

Yeah, it sounds like you can just turn it down so that it will only go off if the interior is intruded though, right? Also, if someone keyed the car, the alarm would have gone off, which would have triggered my pager which would have me next to the car in seconds, at which point I could beat the **** out of the perp. Should be about the same on delivery time then, I'm only 2 states away from you.

Re: I got my 2 stage motion sensor installed

So far I have tested it a few times. I set stage one where if someone walks by about 4 ft. since I park in the drive where people have to walk up to the front door of the house and it will chirp at them 3 times everytime they walk by. On stage 2 I had it set too high and it actually set off the alarm when someone walke by. Now I have it where stage one is still the same since I like to know if someone is by my car at night, stage 2 is at where if some is about 1 foot from my doors or windows the alarm will sound off. I don't drive but 2 times a week so its mainly parked in on the drive. But in about a month it will be in the garage. YaY I middle brother finally closed on his house, 4 bedrooms , 3 car garage 2150 sqft. for $119,000 so his taking all the his stuff in the garage so I can park in there. Lucky b@stard it took him 4 months to get it the house though.
