Re: I got my 2 stage motion sensor installed

hey gr8... I was looking at something like this for my compustar alarm and thought about installing it under my headliner... main reason was because if you install it near the bottom of the car it could be set off by a cat or something under the car... it's less likely that something will set it off above the car, though... this would also solve the problem of worrying about damaging it in your console...

not sure if there's enough room under the headliner or not, as I haven't actually put my hands on a sensor yet, so it depends on how slim it is...

    anyway, just a thought...

what about animals? will animals set it off? because I could see those false alarms getting annoying...

I don't think I've ever seen a bird land on my car... but I guess it could... I just know that I have cats under my car almost every morning in my neighborhood, all the damn old people feed them so there's like 50 strays around here... lol...

I have had bird **** set off my shock sensor on my alarm if I have it really sensitive, though... lol

I might check out the headliner idea, although I'd probably have to at least cut out the foam in an area to fit it in there, might not look great. It sounds like it's plenty adjustable so if animals cause a bunch of false alarms I'll just turn it down.

yea, I haven't had my Camaro running for as long as I've lived here so I'm not sure how it would react... but they are under my Impala every morning and I occasionally will have little pawprints all over the hood...

If it would have been back when my car was running, it only would've taken one time with the remote start with the exhaust dumping shortly after the Y-pipe and they wouldn't be hangin out under there anymore... lol
