So as you can see from the video my lights flash whenever the doors are unlocked. Driver side will take about 5 seconds to turn on but instantly as I open the passenger side or trunk they will go right off. The cars horn was never installed back in (which is good) so that doesn't go off. It hasn't bothered me at all but I would like to fix this so it doesn't do it anymore. It will stop once the car is started. Also if I go into the car to get something and then lock it back right up it will still go off for about 45 seconds or so.
Sounds to me like you have a factory keyless entry/security system but you don't have the remote. When you unlock a car so equipped with the key in the door, you have 7 second I think it is to put the key in the ignition and turn it on, otherwise the alarm goes off.
Here's a test (assuming the shock sensor is still in place): Lock your car up and wait about a minute or so. Go to the passenger rear quarter panel right behind the wheel and give it a good firm knock; if the lights flash again, the security system is the culprit, you can just buy a key fob on eBay and enjoy your keyless entry/security system.
So if I or any other person lost their remote, the lights and horn would go off every time they used they key to get into their car unless they got the remote?
I think if you lock the car with your key, or just actually push the mechanical lock into place before you shut the door instead of pushing the lock button on the door, it won't do this... you could try it, I may be wrong

yea im pretty sure its the stock alarm. but you can turn it off. i dont remember exactly how but i did it with mine, cause it gets annoying trying to get in the car in 7 sec or havin to open the hatch after the drivers door, especially when there is a horn hooked up lol. but if you have the owners manuel it tells you what to do.
I think you remove the radio fuse, put the key in the the run position and press the, its either lock or unlock, you'll know cause it will beep like 1 , 2,3, or 4 times each is a different setting. ill get the exact procedure 2morrow if you want its way easy
If you look in the owners manual it gives you directions to disable this. The factory alarm is set to turn on when you use the power lock button to lock your doors.

Yeah that would be great, I don't have the owner's manual. I guess turning it off would be better because I know they made them without keyless as well.
I would go with Gr8Schlotzky's advice and just find a remote from eBay or from a member here, rather than just disabling it. You should be able to find a remote pretty cheap and they're super easy to program. I believe Gr8 just helped another member with this recently iirc...
especially if you're looking to sell soon bc nowadays, not having keyless entry can be a turn-off...
