  • dead power seat

I have seats in my car out of a 99 camaro (my car is a 3rd gen)

all of a sudden the power drivers seat is dead. No signs of life with any lever or switch.

I've verified there is still getting 12v of power to the seat, but after that, what could be wrong? Can all three motors go out at the same time? I could see one motor dying, or one of the three switches going out, but all three at the same time?

any help for troubleshooting would be appreciated

I did say the seat had power. I put a voltmeter right on the harness under the seat, and it's fine

      ground is fine too

there's 3. I doubt all three died at the same time

            Re: dead power seat

My first suggestion is to verify that one or more of the motors is getting power at it's leads to eliminate the plug or initial wiring as the problem. The chances of all three motors going out at once seems unlikely. I would think it's more likely there is a bad connection at the plug or along the wires that feed the three motors.

            Moving to electrical.

hmmm... I'm wondering about the switch...

does anybody know if the entire switch can die all at once, not just one of the controls?

Can't confirm as I haven't had my switch out, but it seems easy enough to test. Pop the switch plate out and jump some leads.
