  • ? for those running aftermarket headlights

I have a family member who just purchased a nice '99 Camaro. However, it has had previous repairs on the driver's side from a light accident by a previous owner. That headlight is brand new, but the passenger side exhibits the typical hazing. I worked on that headlight with the lens cleaning stuff you can buy, and also worked on it with a buffer. Nonetheless, it still looks out of place with the other headlight. Looking at prices on replacements, it's obvious the aftermarket "halos" and such are more affordable. So, my question is who has bought aftermarket lights for their '98-up Camaros, and what was involved in wiring changes?

I'm not sure this is the route they want to take, but I would like to gather the information so they can make the right decision. Any help and photos would be really appreciated.

as far as the headlight part goes their plug and play no wiring necessary. you can even ones with a xenon conversion all ready like this for pretty cheap too.

The only thing you have to wire is for (on the ones i got) the led's on the bottom and i think it was one of the halo's or sumthin. its just two wires you connect to your marker lights lights, at least thats where i put them. so the halo's and led's go on with the head lights and the marker lights if you want. its not hard to wire its just those 4 wires to the marker lights. I love they way they look too. good luck!

Will do. I've owned my '96 for almost 10 years, but have little experience with the sealed-beam units and all the aftermarket options. With mine, I just run up to town and buy another off the shelf at the local auto-parts store. LOL

You need to sand the cover if you really wanna get the imperfections out. I started with 320 grit, then 600 grit, then 1000, then polish.

I had also performed the sanding with those grits to her lens, but it appears much of the yellowing is actually occurring on the inside.
