keyless entry

My car is pretty much base, other than auto tranny. So I was curious how I would go about putting keyless entry in my car. I figured I could get parts at a junkyard from a camaro with keyless entry, but I'm not sure. Or would something aftermarket be easier? Thanks.

As long as you have power locks now,You would need the BCM out of a car with key less entry, the remotes and one or two relays. You can also ad the shock sensor if you want. All the wiring is there already. Just remember you need to know the ohm value in the key of the car the BCM is out of and have a new key cut for your car with that chip in it.

Oh alright thanks, and yes I do have power locks. Is the bcm under the passenger side dash? So, any bcm will work that has keyless entry and I'll only need to get a key made?

I would try to stay with a BCM in the run of your body as in 93-97 or 98 -02. Some things may have changed between the two groups. BCM is behind the glovebox.

You only need to have a key made...but it must have the ohm value that the new BCM wants too see. So it would be best if you had the key from the car the replacement BCM is out of.

Alright. Thank you for the info! I'll get to the junkyard and start looking for a bcm.
