    Re: HIDs FINALLY!

I guess you are more in tune with the ricers using the ricer 6000 color.

There is absolutely no reason to put those lights in a performance car. The car needs bulbs that actually light up the road. Camaro/Firebird are not Honda Civics. They are performance/luxury oriented vehicle and need high performance enhancements. Not cheap looking ricer crap.

Should have done your research and bought 3000-4500 bulbs. Then your ride would look good. The blue look is bad for your eyes, and is a big "yesterday" item since it became popular with the ricers.

Everyone in the "know" knows not to buy them now. Get white bulbs next time.

    Enjoy your lights.

I have 6000k in both high /low headlights they came out great as for the blue who cares they light up the road way more than stock headlights , my pic is in my avitar. As you can see both light up and there more coverage than I need really but it looks cool.

Ok buddy, pretty sure my car is the farthest thing from 'rice'. The camera makes them look more blue than they really are. The Colour is white and lights up the road a TON better than before; the blue tint is very minimal.

But, hey thanks for coming out.

The difference is the slim are full digital, and the bigger are full analog. The digital fire up fast and hard,, using only a fraction of a second spike in amperage. The analog are slower, and take considerably more power to operate to get the same performance as the digital. Besides not being able to meet the digital spec, they are much larger. Also take note that they should be run on an additional heavy duty wire harness, not the factory. The digital at max, will pull no more than the factory harness can sustain, or more than the factory Halogen bulb pulls.

Once you spend 3 hours deciding where to put 6 HID ballasts under the hood of your F body, you will greatly appreciate the small form factor of the digital ballast.

Note, I also left the factory connector on just in case the car ever has to be reverted to sealed beam. No harm in keeping it. Packed the connector with dielectric grease, then wrapped in vinyl tape, with tie wrap to keep it all closed up tight.

Just a word to the wise......

BTW....... Be sure to solder the wire connections to the existing wire harness. Do NOT use the "press in " blades to make the connection. I have had multiple fire problems (no-starts). Once I cut off the ends and soldered them into the existing wire harness (with shrink wrap, vinyl wrap and PVC flexible cover) there have been no more mis-fires.

My guess is the few posts on other forums about one or both lights not coming on are due to poor connection caused by just pressing in the spade connector into the old sealed beam connector. Poor choice. Take the time, and solder the connection.

Hey, blue is blue, no matter what spin you put on it. 3000 ti 5000 are white. Argue with the people who make the stuff, I am just reporting the facts.

Sorry if that ruffles your feathers, but you have it coming for choosing a ricer color.

Nothing no one can do about it now but you.

            Enjoy!!!!

Come on, you have to step back from your mistake and look at things objectively.

Many HID websites list 6000 as being at the start of white, and 3000 as the start of yellow, but the facts are 6000K on the tue eye color scale is in the blue range. 4500-3000 is in the classic "white" range, anything past 3000K is yellow. Actually, even 3000K is yellow, according to official photo color correction scales.

Caddies, Lincoln, Lexus, etc all are in the 3000-4500K color range. Not even close to the 6000K color you chose.

Stop trying to convince yourself that what you did is not 6000K. You bought 6000K, you got 6000K, and now you have to live with 6000K.

No one on this board can change that but YOU.

Get real, stop spinning. FACTS are FACTS, and nothing you say will change them.

Quit *****ing. $15 will get you a new set of bulbs in the white color grade. Then you can crow.

                Enjoy!!!!

Chill. Stop getting all upset about the facts. I'm not trying to flame you. I did not flame your car, so don't try to make that the issue. Just address the facts, don't try to redirect the topic. Its all about the color bulb you chose. That is it. Just want to correct the errors you posted.

                    Enjoy your lights.

The facts? Your opinion on what is ricer or not is not 'fact'.

I didn't know blue=ricer. 6000K HIDs= better vision in contrast to what I had and make the road look better. I didn't get purple lights that don't improve my vision, I got ones that make everything more visible. In a town where deer are an issue at night it's nice to have something that will give me some chance on seeing down pitch-black county roads.

IMHO, HID's piss me off. Look great if you're the one behind the wheel, and they blind the **** out of whoever you're driving behind. But you kids need to calm down.

Sorry my little Canadian friend, but you haven't been here long enough to piss people off. Control yourselves.....

dude im sure it just looks blue because he did say it was a camera phone pic....i know 6000k hids are not a pure white..its a crystal white...5000k is a pure white...4300k is a pure white with a yellowish tint...which is stock for factory cars....i have 6000k in 3 vehicles...a scion '08 xb which is a projector and it looks beautiful cuz from far away its a bunch of different colors...in a '94 camaro...and in a '07 tahoe and with the naked eye there is no blueish tint...with a camera yea!!...i think it alll depends on what company you go with..if they are a true hid seller that doesnt sell cheap stuff..and also the camera....

i been ordering from a company for 4 years now and everything has been perfect!! i recently bought there new line of slim ballasts and got them today! cant wait to install them tomorrow in my fogs! they are 6000k's also....and its amazing how small these ballasts got now its half the size of an itouch....and probably thick as 2 itouches on top each other!
