2000 Camaro....OEM horn went out. I spent $60 on "bad boy horn"...installed worked fine....then after a year it could barely be heard.....sent it back to mfg. Installed
a small alarm horn....worked fine for 2 weeks then it could barely be heard....same thing. Checked wiring....all tight
and all there. Anyone had this issue?
Don't know my 2 96' horns are still fine , never replaced them before. Maybe look at how much they draw in amps and volts so they aren't over stressed.

I had this problem when I first got my Camaro. There are actually two horns in there (on mine anyway)
and one of them was bad, didn't work at all. The one that did work was a bit weak, too.
So I replaced the bad one and cleaned all the connections. They work great now.
I'm not sure if the 2000 is the same, but my '01 doesn't use the body ground. The ground comes from the connector / wiring harness.
You may want to follow that ground wire back through the loom and make sure it has a clean connection.
Another thought is that the horn relay may be bad. Although I would think it would either work or not work.
