Focus Eyes HID's?

Have you guys heard of these?...Im looking to get even more light out of my hella ff75's so I have been considering going to an HID type bulb and capping off the top end....Ive also been looking at running HID's in my fog lights as well...so Ive been searching around (and yes I know it is frowned upon to put HID's in these housings) but it looks like some of the v8 guys are using these

The actually have a remote motor in them that you can adjust them with a remote control to eliminate any glare and prevent yourself from blindning drivers...Im seriously considering running these...anyone have any experience??

I dunno...I kept trying to read in the LTX forum but you had to be a member to see anymore lol...Imm gunna try and do some more research on them, from what I gathered alot of guys were liking them...

Have you tried capping the FF75s as is to see how much of a difference it will make? The FF75s I sometimes fear are borderline dangerous as is to other drivers. I've never been flashed with them on, but from a reasonable distance in front of the car, they seem to be more blinding than most headlights, likely mostly because there is no cap on the stock bulb, but for that reason I would be that much more hesitant to go to HID with them.

What specifically are you looking for? Better low or high beams? My Hella 90mm Projectors in the fogs really fill out the area in front and to the sides for low beams. For high beams, put whatever you want in those, they are meant to be blinding anyway. Although HIDs tend not to be as suited due to the warm up time and wear from turning on and off quickly.

oh my hella lights blind the **** out of everyone...I need to find a better way of attaching them because my housings keep moving upwards every couple of weeks I think, this is another reason why I want to look into the whole lighting situation.

Thats also kinda why I like these focus eyes and the remotes, because my housing will only move soo far up, and I can just angle the light back down and help fight it that way...

I need the road infront of me to be lit up, as it is now the hellas light up wayyy ahead of me. I was going to start by putting the HID's in the fog lights only and seeing what I could do. One of my hella lights took a rock and smashed it...I was considering moving that set down to the fog light area behind the grille...

I guess I'm not really understanding what they do. It appears as though they'll just move in and out to adjust the focal point of the lens and therefore the beam pattern to an extent. With projectors, this would allow you to "move the cutoff" up and down, but only with projectors. All I can see it doing is changing the lens focus on a freeform, which would just make it less efficient as it's designed for the bulb to be in the stock location and that location only. It certainly wouldn't allow you to raise or lower your lights on the road.

is there any modification that can be done to the hella lamp itself to make the housing less reflective so that the light is more focused?

Sounds to me like what you're really looking for is some good fog lights. You're running the driving version of the FF75s, yeah?

With proper aiming, they're a crap ton better than the stock headlights, but they've still got that driving light beam pattern, so I've always found some kind of good fog light to be essential. I really like my 90mm projectors for the fog lights; they take care of the downfalls of the FF75s as used alone. The FF75 fog lights could be perfect low beams, but I don't have the experience with them to confirm or deny that. If you're looking for fog lights to help fill in the road, I'd go for a set of FF75 fog lights if you don't want to do all the modification required to mount 90mm projectors like I did, although they sure do work well.

As for working with what you've got, I'd try capping them. I've thought about doing this to mine for some time but never got around to it. I never drive the car anyway, let alone at night, so it's been low on my list. I was thinking of filling a cap up with high temp black caliper paint and dipping the end of the bulb in there, letting it dry, and trying it out. Worst case, it causes a weird temperature fluctuation that causes the bulb to explode, similar to what happens if you get finger prints on the bulb, but it shouldn't be too hard to clean up and cheap to buy another bulb if necessary. I'd been trying to find out what is used to cap bulbs like the 9006 but have so far been unable. If done right though, this should help better focus the light and prevent blinding of oncoming drivers.

someone found a way to adapt the 98+ headlights to the 93-97 cars, and it looks good imo...atleast from the angle of those pictures...maybe I'll look into that, because I believe 98+ do have a projector option for their lights no?

Yes, there are tons of ebay Camaro projectors. Are any worth a crap? Camaro guys'll have to chime in.

I had to take the front bumper off and enlarge the holes where the factory fog light wiring harness comes in so that the lights sat back far enough to work well with the grill and whatnot. I used a pneumatic cutoff wheel and a burr to smooth things out. I suppose you would conceivably use a hole saw of the correct diameter if you were to wedge a piece of wood in the existing hole or weld a piece in to keep the guide bit of the hole saw centered. That'd be quicker if you could get it to work.

Those HIDs look sick , theres a lt1 guy in AZFBA that has them , but I still like my 6000k HID's in the stock lens.
