Alarm going crazy..

Alright so it honks twice, and then stops.. once every 5 minutes or so. The other night my car wouldn't start, and Security light light on the dash. I dunno what's up.. but I'm 1100not miles from home so I hope its simple...

Starts just fine, no charge issues, no loss of amps..

When was the alarm installed and what kind of alarm ? What features does it have?

The VATS system is going bad and needs attention. You can bypass it or figure out which part needs to be fixed/replaced. There are several threads on how to do either on here.

I thought VATS only dealt with the ignition and such? The Security thing was a super dirty key. I'm not worried about that... only why the alarm likes to go off for two seconds then stop... bout 3 tike after I lock the car.
