DRIVING ME INSANE! I installed an aftermarket security system, mainly because I wanted remote locks haha. Well the alarm has a 12V+ out for hooking up parking lamps. I hooked it to one of the brown wires coming from the headlight switch. When I turn on the parking lamps this brown wire gets juice, when alarm triggers (or is supposed to) the parking lights..nothing.
I programmed it to flash the lights when the alarm is armed/disarmed. Everything else works flawlessly, I just can't get lights to flash.
According to installation manual the alarm has an internal relay for lamps and shouldn't need one.
Another question! My trunk release sends a negative trigger pulse. Guide says to use a relay to hook up the solenoid. Could I instead hook up to the Black/White wire on BCM that goes to the current trunk relay?
