Not a tach install but used the same wiring with a shift light , took the tach wire off my cam sensor harness, don’t take it off the pcm , it cuts the engine off when driving.

If I remember correctly Its a 2k signal and it was in 2 spots at the pcm and at the cam sensor harness tried the pcm first and engine would shut off so did it at the cam sensor harness and it worked great. I think the tach uses the 2k signal. Then ground and power.
