car is going crazy

i'm not sure who posted this before and i cant thik of what to search by in the archive but this is the problem.

My friends 1996 firebird makes a grinding noise when its headlights are lowered. i would think that it is a stripped gear but what is really weird is the headlights pop up and down when you use the keyless entry system. i remember someone else having this problem before and when i saw it in person it made me think of the post right away.

does anyone know what these problems could be caused by or why they are happening?

I kinda had a similar problem with the headlights poping up and down... well, more like poping up and staying up. Whenever I turned on the car they would pop up and there was some interior alarm ringing. Anyway, I took it to a local shop and the guy traced it down to a short in the security system. Unplugged it, problem solved.
