  • Why the hell....

does my CD Player flip out at random times?
Every so often my CD Player will just **** up and not play a damn thing.
Yesterday for example, I got into my car, turned it on and the CD Ejected. I put in another and got E20. I looked this up and think I remember it as being cannot read disc. I did this with several different discs and they all got the same E20.
I drove around, went to a friends house. When I left I tried it again and all the cds worked fine.
Why is this damn thing being so picky?

How do I take it apart!

I've taken it OUT before, but never apart... and even so, if the lens was dirty, wouldn't it give me the error code all the time, and not just randomly?

you got me there... try some of the cleaning cd's they sell.
i know that cleaning the lens w/ a cue tip of cottom ball w/ alcohol will do the trick. it's just a matter of finding it first.
        anyway good luck

dust builds up in the lens causing it to have blindspots and not extract the digital information correctly. If it can't read the tag lines on the CD, then it can't see it. After driving around the dirt on your lens shifted and could read again. By a cd cleaner kit somwhere and use it.

If that doens't fix it, then buy a new cd player cause its an internal problem to the Head Unit and would be cheaper to replae than repair.
Not a problem, just a challenge...
