• Any camaro guys with a power antenna

Ive been trying to find a stock firebird/trans am power antenna to hook up in my camaro but they are all so expensive. Does it matter what brand you use?? Which ones do you guys have?? I found a generic one for $25. It has 5 different grommets for universal mounting. Do you think this one will work?? Thanks.

I installed a power antenna on mine. I don't remember the brand. Any of them should be fine. Just use the best angled grommet that you can get on there and make sure that you ground the antenna correctly. Most power antenna's will come with an in-line amplifier for the radio signal... You'll probably be much happier if you use it.

by the way, you probably wouldn't want to use the stock T/A antenna anyway, the angles would be all goofy and the connector would be different.

Thats weird. Is your car a 2002 model?? And the power antenna was an option listed on the window sticker?? If your car is new it must be GM's way of sending off the Camaro by making it more equal with its brother, the Firebird.

Must be an option GM finally decided to give the Camaro. Someone mentioned in the other post about power antenna's that they thought GM started offering it in '01. I guess it was earlier. Consider yourself priveleged. You dont have to deal with wiring one like I do.

Not sure where you guys are getting this info. but it wasn't an option when I bought my '01 and the GM part referenced in the archives does not apply to Camaros, only Firebirds. Maybe you got a car that was originally built for Canada? I don't think it's been an option in the US.
