    Help me match an amp

    Ok, sold my books today and went ahead and blew the wad on and Audiobahn AW1000EU (pending the end of the auction). It is a 600 watt RMS 10" sub. I am going to build a fiberglass box for the driver's side well. Now I just need an amp. I want something in a reasonable price range that won't damage the sub (b/c I know running too low power is just as bad or worse for a sub than running too much). I cam always upgrade the sub later, for now I am just looking for something that will let this sub stretch its legs. Of course, if I had my way I'd go ahead and get a badass amp now, but I am being realistic. I got the sub for a great deal, so hopefully I can get a deal on an amp. I just need to know what to look for. Thanks, and sorry for the length. I am just pumped.

    WooHoo! Won the auction! Had to go over a bit, but **** it, it is worth it! Now I just need an amp. I was looking at the Profile Clarus CL800. It is 200x2 or 600x1, so I think that will work. It is $269, and that is about the amount I want to spend right now. Anyone? Or do I get to keep talking to myself :D

      How about the JL Audio 500/1. It's a really great amp for the money. I thinks it's about $300.

            Well that don;t sounds bad i like the JL amp a few of my friends have them they can run any ohm load with the same power wich is sweat but kinda a bummer at the same time but for the price you really can't argue i run a 1200 D american bass that amp ran me 400 bucks though but it's 1200 watts on my 2 12's at 4 ohm i'm not really sure what it is these are new amps and well lets just say the ratings aren;t precise there under rated if anything and my other amp is a 6500d MTxs not to bad it's only 250 wats at 4 ohm but at 2 ohm it can run 700 acording to it's birth records So i guess that might work dependin if the sub is a DVC i don;t know much about the audiobans But still congrats on the buy i do hear there a pretty good sub ;)

              DOH! Yeah, I guess more info on the subs would help. It is a DVC. I got it off UBid.com. Thanks for the info. Keep it coming! Is it hard to make that MTX amp run in mono? Is it bad for the amp or the sub? Thanks.

                Really well that 6500D is a sub amp it's digital very nice so if your 4 ohm DVC you can run it 2 ohm mono wich it is a mono amp to start with so ti would work really nicely and well most amps your gona get for that will run a mono anyways i'd go with a Class D amp if you can it will be more bang for your buck and well i might be selling my 6500D if your intersted i'm not sure what i bought it new for but hey get back to me or vise versa alright

                  Well, I usually like to buy my stuff new, but if you are thinking of selling yours and make a good deal, I'll give it a thought. No promises, just depends on what you are asking.

                    Try the JBL 1200.1 . It can be had for around $275 shipped. It puts out over 1200 watts and is stable to 1 ohm mono. The MTX 81000D is also a very good and cheap amp.
