I don't have cruise on my 2002 Camaro. I would have got it, but I got the second to last 5-speed left in California, and the other one was at the same dealer and identical except for exterior color.
The service manager at the Chevy dealer recommended this place that installs stuff like that, and it's $500 to get an extra stalk installed with everything. It's expensive, but I might have it done sometime.
He said they used to be able to replace the stalk, but he wasn't sure if they could do it on the new ones and would have to look into it. Maybe try finding a place that installs it and ask them.

I replaced the stalk already. The wires coming off the stalk plugged into an existing plug on the turn signal assembly. I figured finding the connector for the module would be just as easy
I think I'll get under there again see if I can find it. This pic http://shbox.com/1/cruise_module.jpg gives me a better idea of where it could be (hiding)
