Anything made by Eclipse, Alpine, Kicker, Rockford Fosgate are good buys as far as subs go. Audiobahn is also good.

I would try and listen to a sub before you buy it. Goto a car audio store and listen to a bunch, then get on ebay. You never know what you are getting if you havent heard it. I love my MTX Thunder 6000. I paid $90 for it because i knew a guy that worked at a custom shop, but you could find them pretty cheap ( not on ebay though, MTX wont let you ebay new subs of theirs; i tried to sell a new Thunder 4000 and got a nasty letter about it ).

I think the JL W0's are pretty cheap. And you can't get much better quality then JL...

I just got an audiobahn for $100 shipped off ubid.com . It is 600 watts RMS. DVC, high excursion. I looked earlier today and they have more for sale. There are 30 of them, so you should get a better deal than me (the auction I was in only had 10 available at the time. If you lose, don't worry, they seem to have this auction every day). It is a 10" sub. It was at my door 2 days after the bid ended. Just do a search for audiobahn or whatever brand you want. I like the audiobahns. I have heard them and they really pound, plus it is a brand that not everyone has. My friend put it best when he said "come listen to my audiobahns before you jump on the RF bandwagon". I am glad I did.

Ditto. The W0 series are very nice woofers. Unless you're going to be pounding them really hard (I'm talkin' like 1000 watts), I would go for W0's in a sealed box. If you can stand to spend some money on a well built ported enclosure, do that.
