my steering wheel has buttons to control the stereo, you know seek, volume, set, etc. I recently noticed that those buttons don't light up anymore at night when i turn on the lights at all. Do any of you guys know how to fix this??

The controls have a small bulb inside with a red rubber cover
my left one went out and i tried to take a look at it but the bulb is more like a led in size and seems to be soldered to the circuit board inside the control
if you do decide to take them out make sure you disconnect the battery and pull the airbag fuse you will also want to leave the car for around 15 mins so the airbag has lost its charge
i know you can purchase the controls but they are a little steep (i think around $60 each)so im just going to leave mine as it is unless someone knows the exact bulb and i may have a go at soldering one in
best wishes

I have the same problem. I heard you have to pull out your airbag to get them out. Then bring it to an electronic store and have them weld a new led for you. Thats just what people have told me, I have not tried it myself. If someone has the balls to do it and it works then I will step to the plate.

thanks for the info. I don't think anyone notices because both bulbs are out and no one really looks at the steering wheel for lights, i just kind of miss them. I might decide to fix this when i get more money, thanks for the info.2005 Chevrolet Corvette C6
M6, Magnaflow\'s 14336
C6 Pics

Old car:
1996 Firebird A4
SLP Cold Air Intake
Magnaflow Catback Exhaust
Magnaflow Catalytic Converter

George Mason University
CEIE Major
Pi Kappa Alpha

Firebird Pics
