Go with the RF. It may be more $$$, but you can be sure it's the real deal. Not some no-name "best audio". Plus it comes with a warrenty. PLUS you don't have to wait for shipping! And the digital top is just an added load on the electrical system. I think that's what you're trying to avoid correct? Just for looks.....

If your getting a cap, look at audiobahn. I have a acap1q, and it does a good job, its chrome, and it has blue neon digital display. It'll cost about twice that other one, but its 24v nominal, 30v surge.

Anything over a 16V nomimal is not needed. A cap can only store the same amount of voltage that it recieves. If your alt puts out 12 volts, that as much as your cap can put out. If you're running at 14.4V, it will put out 14.4. Your car's system will never be able to produce more than 16V much less up to 30V.

I ran a Parts Express generic 1 Farad cap for about 3 years and never had any problems with it. It was plain but it did the job. My lights quit dimming on me at night. 1 Farad is 1 Farad.

Be sure to ground it properly and ground it well. I removed the paint underneath the bolt I used to ground it. Keep the ground wire as short as possible and try to put the cap inline as close to the amp(s) as possible.

          Hope this helps.

THE KIND OF CAP YOU GET DOES NOT MATTER!

If you're buying rechargable batteries, does it matter if you get Duracell, Energizer, or Rayovac when you will be charging the things every time you use them? NO!

I got a digital 1.7 farrad cap of e-bay for $70 after shipping and it works PERFECT.

Just make sure you tell them to package it properly, if the cap gets dented in ANY way its no good :(
