From what ive heard, the millhouse box is a top notch box for our cars and is slick in hiding away when folded down. My question is, why dont people buy the materials and build a box such as this one themself? Are people really that lazy?

Well, from the way Megabass talked it sounds like it took some time to get it just right to fit, and he builds boxes all the time, so if it took him this long to build it, then im not about to attempt it, and plus, why do it yourself when you can have someone else do it and make it look 10 times better cause they have the right tools and material. Then: 1997 3.8L Red Firebird~SOLD!~
Now: 2002 Atlantic Blue Dodge Ram 1500

Good point. And not everybody has all the proper tools and materials to get it done. Sorta like tinting windows. How hard can it be to slap some film on a window. Well, I've never done it so I don't want to have to do it over and over again to get it right. So I had someone (a professional) do it for me because I knew they could do a great job the first time. That's all.
Certain people specialize in different things. When somebody wants a nice looking box that fits, they call upon me. I'm sure there's lots of guys out there trying to make milhouse boxes right now. But I'm waaaaaaaaay ahead of them. He He. This type of box (believe it or not) requires quite a bit of thought and engineering. I didn't just go throw some boards together Lol.
Another example, How many people have bought aftermarket exhaust? Well, why not just buy the pipe and bend it yourself. See my point?

When you add up the cost of materials and then figure in the labor into constructing it you'll realize that the millhouse box is a great buy.
No flaming intended, but did you ever stop to think that maybe not everyone on this board has access to all the tools to make something like this? Yeah I have a table saw, and a jig saw and some air tools but they aren't of the greatest quality and I don't have much experience with wood working. I trust that Steve could do a better job then I could, and I've got a lot going on right now in my life that I don't have much time to build something.1994 Camaro 3.4L M5 R.I.P.
You know what they say- a small engine means big... errr... e/t\'s
www.pbase.com/rrj72/the_accident
replaced with: red 97 A4 vert (my brothers as soon as i find my REAL replacement)
soon to come: 1969 RS/SS
\"All you need are the esentials: scented candles, massage oil, and Berry White write that down.\" -Van Wilder

Not everyone has the skill, tools or time to build a custom box, and those who do still might not get the quality product that a mass produced box can be. The exact same reason you bought your car pre-manufactured instead of building it yourself - CONVENIENCE. People pay extra for convenience every day.
This post is inflamitory and not necessary. Aren't you the one who posted "Why are auto camaros sold?" in the lounge? Believe it or not, people in America are FREE to chose to buy or do whatever the f*ck they want, when they want to, for whatever reason they want to.
