• Will this amp be enough?

I'm getting a e10A.22 in a subthump stealthbox. Will a Clarion DPX1001.2 amp be a good amount of power. I'm pretty sure i'll have to wire the amp for 4 ohms which should make around 600watts. Thanx guys and gals. P.S. i'm all about SQ, not SPL if that helps any.

First, are you getting a driver's side stealth box? If so, you might want to double check with Megabass. I think there are a few drivers out there that are too deep to fit into the driver's side box. Think the 10A is one of them.

Next, don't know much about that particular amp, but it states:
Maximum Power Output 1000W
Continuous Average Power Output 300W (150W x 2 into 4 Ohms 20Hz-20kHz @0.05% THD)
Typical 2-Ohm Stereo 300W x 2 @ 0.5% THD
Typical 1-Ohm Stereo 500W x 2 @ 0.8% THD
Typical 2 Ohm Mono Power 1kHz 1000W @ 1.0% THD

"Typical" might mean peak power in this case. As continuous power is only 150Wx2@4ohms. It also states that it is 2 ohm stable when running in bridged mode. Will it be 1 ohm stable? Ehhh, doubtful. But I'd try it. If it's not, the amp should just kick it protection. Have you already bought the amp? You could get a JBL BP1200.1 for the same price and pump 1200WRMSx1@1ohm to your 10A. I'm not trying to cut your amp down or anything. And I know your about SQ vs. SPL, but I figured since you want to run at 1 ohm, get an amp that is 1 ohm stable. :D If you have already bought the amp, no worries. 600WRMS should be plenty. No i haven't bought the amp yet, and yes in a drivers side stealth box. I posted a few weeks back about the e10A in the driver side stealthbox and Megabass responded saying it is THE best SQ sub for that box. The reason i asked about this particular amp is because I bought a Clarion 401.2 to power my front speakers (cdt euros). I just figured it would look nice to keep the same brand, but it's not a necessity either.

Another thing...i think i will end up wiring it for 4 ohms rather than 1 ohm b/c with 1 ohm comes some distortion and i'd rather just have it play clear than loud.

Id say get a JBL bp1200.1 these are real nice amps and at 4ohms they put out 600 watts...another good thing about these is if you ever decide to get another 10a then you can wire it into 2ohms and get 1200watts...heres one on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=18797

another amp that would be good for the e10a is a JL 500/1 mine are bench tested at over 700 watts (they put out the same power from 1.5omhs to 4ohms) and they are REAL nice amps...but they will also cole with a higher price tag (I got both of mine for 275 shipped but you can usually find one on ebay for a round 300)...good luck

Ohhh, hmmmm. Yeah, I gotta have my amps matching. That does look like cr@p. :( Hmmm.. well it's your decision. And just because you run at 1 ohm doesn't automaticaly mean you will have higher distortion levels.
