alright, I got the new crutchfiled the other day and it has the full line of Alpine equipment. when I had my 91 Blazer, and replaced all the speakers with infinity kappas. I'd like to keep the speakers in my camaro a uniform brand as well. I'm thinking about getting all Alpine speakers. What do you all think about this? I plan on replacing the door speakers with some components, the rear ones with components but just the woofer, and then the trunk ones with some 4" 2-ways. Any ideas on a better setup using the same brand would be cool.

Alpine is decent. Their Type R subs are pretty good. I don't know about their components. I didn't even know they made componenets! Why would you buy comps for the back and use only the woofer? Just buy some co-axils. Also, I wouldn't put anything in the very back. Add a sub. If your worried about space, get the JL stealh box and a Alpine Type R.

I'd buy components for the back and just use the woofer because I didnt think that anyone made subs that small (6 1/2") I'd like to get some nice sounding base. Also the truck of my car has 4" speakers already, I was just talking about replaceing those. They're located on the sides of the truck in the plastic molding, with a protective grill so that water cant get in. Maybe I can find a spot for the 2 extra tweeter I'll have. Any reviews on this setup? what do you all think?

I recommend a component up front. Then you can buy and individual woofer, or a mid-bass driver for the sail panels. Don't even bother with the very back speakers, they are worthless, and it just makes it harder to power everything with just one amp.
Alpine makes good stuff, but not speakers. They have great HU's and amps and subs, they are just now getting into components and they have no track record. Stick with the best with this, try some MB Quarts or A/D/S. Listen to the components before you buy them.<b><i>1999 Pewter Trans Am M6 - Stock for now...<br />296.6 RWHP and 310.6 RWTQ</i></b> -<i>SOLD</i><p><i>\"There are vast amounts of money to be made in the sevice of the Lord!\"</i><br /><i>1994 Green Camaro M5 - <b>SOLD</b></i><p><br /><b><i>Associate of VENOM-VI</i></b>

That's what I'm saying. A set of comp. up front and I would just put co-axils in the back seat and nothing in the very back. They are worthless. That set-up will give you plenty of mid-bass. Then get a sub for some bump. I would also recommend Focal for your components. You seemed set on Alpine, that's why I didn't mention it before.

Yes.

OOhh! Now it gets a little more difficult. Depends on what you really want out of your stereo. Heart pounding bass or just a really loud and clear sounding stereo. The possibilities are endless!!

Just throw out ideas. I just want some nice bass, you know a little rattle, some saken seats, and vibrating mirrors (I got all that stock.. GO MONSOON ) but I also want it to get loud without distorting. Playing those highs and keeping it sounding good. I plan on installing an amp to drive the speakers later on, but not at this point. So you know, some desent speakers. Suggest em!

Ok, I sound to me like you want a sub. You're not going to get shaking seats and mirrors with small door speakers alone. Now, if you have a sub, it requires an amp. Since, you stated you're planning on doing that in the future I'd go head a get it now. Get it all right the first time and be happy with it for a while. (until you want more boom! :D ) Let's see... a whole system same brand and still relitivly cheap...hmmm... you might try JL audio. They are one of the few I can think of that has good everything. (amps, subs, components, etc.) They might be a little more expensive then Alpine or Pioneer but they are better quality. You could still go with Alpine if you want, they don't suck a$$ or anything, I just don't know about their components. You can get a JL W0 (sub) for under $100. Or step up to the W3's. There comps. and amps are a little more expensive. Let me know what you think.

If you just want bump on top of your factory system, you could go the bass tube route... That's what I did with my Mustang, put in a new head unit and this kenwood/8" tube combo.. of course, I traded the 'stang for a 'bird, so now have them for sale..
