what wire is the Dimmer Switch

connected to so that i can put my fuel and boost gauge to it for a power source and use the dimmer switch to control how much light it puts out.....98 firebird and the more specific the better and preferrably in the fuse panel

Dimmer wire is Grey. One place you can tap into one would be behind the factory stereo. On the factory stereos main wiring harness, tap into the Grey dimmer wire, pin# 7 on the harness.

with it hooked into the stereo will i still be able to dim it with the slider switch on the light switch or can i hook it up to the gauges outlet power on the back side of the fuse panel

Yes, the Grey wire I mentioned behind the stereo is controlled by the slider next to the light switch. Not sure where the wire is behind the fuse panel.
