Well, have you compared them side by side?
I'm talking components under $500, a pair of coaxial Focals will actually sound better. The soundstage is quite present, and the clarity is second to none. High-end sibilance is clear, overall tonal balance is quite well.
I haven't seen the same level of quality out of other moderately priced drivers, coaxial or component.
The lowest model Focal is quite a bit better than the highest priced models of other brands.

Yes as a matter of fact I have compared them side by side and that is why I asked you your logic behind this. I will agree with you that Focals are nice speakers and I wouldn't hesitate to buy a set of k2p's or utopia's, but to say that a set of coaxial focals will have better imaging an clarity than a set of let's say CDT HD62's ($400) is absolutely crazy (assuming that the components are set up right). I mean hell I would take a set of CDT cl-61a's over a set of focal polyglass coaxial's any day. I think that the problem here is that you have not heard any component systems that were set up correctly.

The other day I was at a store that sold some MB Quart speakers. The one component set was $375, and sound like complete sh*t next to some $220 Infinty's. So price isn't always the best way to define quality.

Couldn't agree more. Everybody has their own tastes. I personally prefer the Focal K2's over the Utopia line.

now i have to save some money to buy an ED a-series
btw imo i think bostan and rainbow sound better then any speaker i have heard in a car, but who wants to spend 500-1500 dollars for a name and then some more for the speakers.
