  • Little Problem....

I have a jvc headunit 2 10s amp 1/2 ferad capacitator and aftermarket speakers.. nothing fancy.. anyway, when there is a little "bump" in the subs my radio display faints with every bump. The strange thing is, that's the only light that faints, not the exterior or any of those lights.. Should it be doing that even though I have a capacitator? Any ideas? Bad ground somewhere? Any help is appreciated!

I would try and put a relay on the remote wire from the radio...if that doesn't help then your head unit is bad...

try checking the ground on the stereo. i had a problem like this and it was a crappy ground.

Dont use the ground wire that the stock stereo was using, find another place, sand it down to the bare metal. and use a self tapping skrew and you will have an excellent ground.

yeah, that sounds like a lifting ground, i'd do what marow/bass suggested and the problem still persits maybe relay the remote wire or get a new HU

its not a bad ground unless your the amp in the radio is running full range

              I disagree.

a bad ground has nothing to do with the frequency of the sound being reproduced.

a bad ground is simply a connection that opens and closes at a high speed.

a bad ground could not effect the head unit at all if the amp inside it isn't on or is in HPF mode...there won't be a lot of current draw...now if the amp is playing full range then a bad ground is possible...
