factory cd player

Would the factory CD player from another F body fit my dash and use my wiring harness?

Any year Delco. I put a 2001 Delco CD in my 96, dealer even did it.

Are you sure?? There is no difference in how the monsoon deck functions from the standard decks. The external amp is what makes it a monsoon system.

The monsoon outputs are line-level and will not drive speakers.

I don't know about the 1997 dash, but my 95 has a curved edge on the right that keeps me from using a standard GM head (or aftermarket replacement) unless I cut.

I have the monsoon head unit with my Bose system. I used to have the bose tape deck. Almost 99% positive that all GM Delco HU will work in you car. The fit with the Monsoon HU is a little tricky just have to do a little more screwing but does fit pretty much perfect.

That is not correct; the head unit for the monsoon system does not have line level outputs. It is exactly the same as the standard system. The only difference is the little monsoon stickers they put on '99 and later.

The monsoon system uses an amp for 6 of the speakers (the tweeters in the front doors are driven directly by the HU), but the amp takes speaker-level inputs (directly from the speaker outputs of the HU).

As far as I know GM used the same wiring harness since '88 so you should be able to put any delco HU fron within those years in your car.

Wolfy, are you looking to buy one?? I dont know what the part# is but Im sure the dealer will rip you a new one for what they want for one. Probably in the $300 range, maybe more. If your looking for one I might have one for sale. Let me know.
