I recently acquired a 94 Camaro V6. I love the car but I have a problem. I love my music. My car has the 5-speaker Bose system in it. At low volume all the speakers hiss and crack, when I crank it to about half-way, it sounds fine. Not great, but fine. I was thinking and i've decided to replace everything. I had a 6 inch sub layin around so I put it in the back and now instead of the sub putting out bass, it puts out all of the highs and the front speakers are thumping with everything they have left in them making an aweful popping sound when they hit. My car has a tape-deck. I havent even seen a tape in 3 years, so it definatly has to go, the thing is, i'm not putting a nice CD player in there with cracky speakers. So i'm replacing all speakers first and then buying a new head unit. Can I do this? I have searched and there are tons of people who have had problems with this Bose system and that worries me. I know i'm in for an adventure. What all do I need to buy/do to use the factory head unit with all new speakers? It's not going to hurt my feelings to lose the bose sub in the hatch if its going to make anything easier. I do plan on adding a new HU when I get the money and 2 12 inch subs, FYI. Also, I would like to use the factory wiring, if at all possible. Thanks. ;)

Can I use stock wiring and the stock HU using new speakers in the door? I have the bose and I do plan on upgrading the HU later on.1998 Camaro V6 \"Black Mamba\"<br />Y87<br />Whisper Lid w/ K&N filter<br />Flowmaster American Thunder<br />Numerous appearance mods.<br /> <a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2154172\" target=\"_blank\">Car Domain</a>

Is it going to sound alright? I mean I know its not going to be great with a stock HU.
Will I run into any problems?1998 Camaro V6 \"Black Mamba\"<br />Y87<br />Whisper Lid w/ K&N filter<br />Flowmaster American Thunder<br />Numerous appearance mods.<br /> <a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2154172\" target=\"_blank\">Car Domain</a>

It will sound as good as the head unit can produce. I replaced mine and am still using my bose headunit (though I suspect it's a monsoon headunit, not like it really matters) and it sounds fine. The only thing I warn you of is the stock head unit can be finnicky with certain combinations of equalizer settings so just be aware that it won't always sound perfect all of the time.

Ok bro im assuming you want to just replace your stereo with an aftermarket deck and replace your 4 6.5'' speakers right?
Will you want to get amp for your speakers? or will you just be running them off the deck? Before you ask the factory bose amp is nowhere nearly big enough to push 4 after market speakers to the full potential.
Your best bet is to get an amp, wheather you want to spend the dough for it is your choice, let me know...

Well I thought that with the bose system each speaker had its own amp. Oh and I dont have the rear speakers. Someone ripped both of them out but it sounds good so i'm not worried about it. I'm not sure if i'll get an amp because i'll be adding subs later. They dont need to push that much power.1998 Camaro V6 \"Black Mamba\"<br />Y87<br />Whisper Lid w/ K&N filter<br />Flowmaster American Thunder<br />Numerous appearance mods.<br /> <a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2154172\" target=\"_blank\">Car Domain</a>

If you will be adding subs then i suggest you do add an amp to your mids/highs. Reason i say this is because the stock amp will not be enough to push them when you get your subs.
The lows from the sub will drown out the mids/highs.
I run (4) 6.5'' components thats up front. And i have some Pioneer 6*9s in the rear and this isnt enough for me.
