Good alarms come with remote start...It came with mine I just chose not to install it yet...I have all the stuff. I recommmend that if you have a manual that you stay away from remote start .

He's actually right about Manuals. One local shop up here WON'T install Remote Starter/Alarm combos on Manual Transmission Cars. They say it is dangerous.

I have a manual start car and I was contemplating doing this in the future. What are the risks? Could someone elaborate please?
Thanks

Leave your car in gear and hit the remote start....plan on some damage to your front or back of your car.

as stated b4 u could maybe bump the car forward or reverse, but thats easily solved by getting out the habit of putting ur car in gear and jus using the e brake. You gotta tap into the neutral safty switch to bypass that.

I have remote start in my car its a DEI Clifford Matrix RSX3.5 Its alarm with remote start the other options i have installed are hatch release, keyless entry, flashing parkling lights, Im going to install a proximity sensor soon too. I have a friend with a manual with remote start but he doesnt remote start anymore cause he left it in gear, remoted started and it surged forward and hit the parked car infront of him.

im planning on putting remote starter on my manula becuase i make an effort not to leave it in gear any way becuase im ditzy and forget now and start it in gear a lot.thank god ie cought it everytime and now i dont do it anymore lol-anyway-since i have to push in my clutch to start my car then how does this work?will it bypass this sensor?or will the sesor even get in the way since the starting unit goes directly under the hood?or would that actually BE bypassing it?

Be aware that certain state inspection stations will not pass your car if you disable the clutch depress safety switch. make sure it will pass before you put the money into it....

I have a clifford rs3... I've had it for about a year now. I love the damn thing.

as to installing it on a manual trans, its not difficult at all. I've been a car audio, video, navi and alarm installer goin on 5 years now. I've installed alarms n such in all kinds of different vehicles. On all gm cars that have the pats 2 & 3 your going to have to bypass that. (the resistor in the gm key) It's easily bypassed. Sometimes you do need to buy an extra module, but not for the f-bodys. alot of shops wont install it on a manual trans due to corporate policies, etc. I've never had a car accually start and start moving, just the jerking forward.

If anybody needs to know wire colors/locations I'll be glad to help.
