hi all,
my brother just bought this system after frying his 3 infinity references with the jbl amp  its got massive watts for a low price. anyway, what kind of dbs will he be hitting if he puts the two shiva 12's in a sealed 1.25 ft x2 at 2 ohms (roughly 650 watts a piece) thanks for your responses. just thought id spread the joy :D

Tough to say. If the box is well built...... I'm gonna make a guess of 143db. Lemme know how close I am.

hi all, this is an edit. my brother just told me the box will be a 1.8 cubic foot by two independantly sealed. how will this change the performance and loudness?

Louder with less power. His low frequency extension will increase. Caution him though. That's quite a bit of power for the Shiva in that size box. I wouldn't go any larger. (Yes, I am fimilar with this woofer) I'm still keeping my guess 142-143db. Lemme know how close I am! :D

hmmm, the subs got here today and we put one in a 1 foot sealed to break it in. the custom 1.8 ft box hasn't gotten here yet. i must say shivas are very sturdy, beefy woofers. plays nice and loud, but nothing like we expected, but i guess thats because of the small airspace. we then put an infinity reference 12 in the same hole with the same power and it was twice as loud. the sensitivity on the infinity is higher though (92). BTW both were run at 4 ohms at 600 watts. ill post once the box gets here and we can really crank it!!
peace
