if your looking for flat out sq, look at jl w0's. they sound excellent, but not very loud. Type R's have great sq as well.

The W0's are not even in the top 25 for the "best SQ" award. JL W7, Adire Audio Brahma, Elemental Designs A-series, XXX, and the ID MAX. Those are probably the top 5. Not in any particular order.... and of course, it's always open for debate and personal taste.

Elemental Design A series, IDMAX.

Those two have the best sound IMO.

IMO, the W7 sounds horrible..

I'm partial to the A-series also, because I have one and it sounds crystal clear (for a sub). I can't hear any distortion at all. Currently it's in a .5 enclosure with 600 watts at 4 ohms.

Depends how much you want to spend I guess.

Go for some old school soundstreams there still have some of the best sound quality in my opinion.

Horrible?!!?!? Are you kidding me? Explain to me why w7's apeear frequently in SQL competitions? Maydbe the one you heard was in a bad setup. I agree that the ED a series, IDMAX's, Brahma's, RE XXX, and even the JBL GTI's are all comparible. Hell my w6v2's have awesome SQ also IMHO. The underlying factor is the kind of money you are willing to spend.

I just don't like the sound.

You want REAL sound, find some vintage JBL...maybe an LE-14...

Server Query Language? Like this?

if ($userpostid = "Freeser" && $posttext != "compresensible" {
$nextpost++;
}

Did you mean SPL or SQ? You're mixing your acronyms here. I'm guessing that you meant SQ since SPL would completely contradict the whole point of your post.

(This is getting fun, isn't it Freeser? ;) )

Actually this is getting pretty fun 1101. When I wrote SQL, I meant SQL. SQL is the sound quality league of MECA (Mobile Electronics Competition Association). Also, I'm curious as to why you are so worried about my grammar? I don't really see it fit to be gramatically correct when posting on a message board. If I am writing an essay for you then thats a totally different story. ;)

Not only were you corrected, but you only make yourself look ignorant when you try to blast someone. I do believe you owe him an apology for trying to be snotty.

I would have to go with the old school soundstreams but I am partial to soundstream.

Nope. Admitting I was mistaken is fine. Matt is a pretty knowledgeable guy when it comes to car audio, but a lot of his posts are difficult to follow. I like giving him a hard time about it.

I'm long past the age where car audio competitions hold any interest. Knowing that an organization like MECA exists is about all I care to know about it.

What part of St. Louis are you from? I lived there for 18 years.
