• Speaker Install

today i tried to install a pair of 6x9's in the rear and 6.5 in the front doors the 6x9's was a tight squeeze but they fit and i am happy with the way they sound but the front speakers rattle. first of i think i may have wired it wrong the stock speaker had 2 red wires and 2 black ones. but the speakers i bought only had 2 hookups so i hooked up 2 red ones and one black(i tried two black and it rattled alot) also i discovered my stock speakers in the back seat dont work and no sound what so ever comes out. any ideas would be great

I've seen them nylon zip-ties in place of the screws that support the speakers. Not sure if that would help resolve your rattling problem. Maybe some non-flammable cushioning material behind the large magnetic base for added support. Just a few ideas...

Chase, why 6x9's? Also are you still running off of the stock h/u?

i think they are kenwood there not ment to fit though the rear hatch hydraulic sits in the speaker grill but there is just enough room fo them to work good luck

I'm pretty sure youre not supposed to hook up 2 ohm speakers to the stock head unit if its monsoon...

lol Both are incorrect actually, teal99. We've found a way around just about everything for this "upgraded" system we call Monsoon.... Want any pointers on it, just search.
