power problem

why is my car loosing power when i hit the brakes turn on my ac and do anything sudden. everything in my car dims or shuts off when i hit the brakes. is it my alternator, bad belt, all of the above if anyone can help me or knows the answer please tell me. and its not my stereo cause it does it when my amps are turned off too.

i would check alternator. its the power pack of your car.

so when you hit the brakes you electrical access shut off? i would def get teh alt checked out.

A couple of us guys on here are having a very similar problem. Search the stereo and general forum. I have checked damn near EVERYTHING that could ever be considered electrical with no luck.

Damn, the car dies when you just hit the brakes? Our problem isin't THAT bad, but I have basically stopped using my A/C entirely because of this..... and I live in Hawaii..... :( If you find anything, good or bad, keep us posted. [img]graemlins/stickpoke.gif[/img]

it all comes right back on but anytime the car ahs a change in the amount of power being consumed the radio cuts out and the headlights dim.
