  • Mounting Amp?

I just wanted to know if I could put my amp where ever I wanted to in my car, in the trunk. Does the amp need air or kept cool? Could I just put the amp right underneath my box on the bottom of my trunk/hatch?

Most Amps DO need air to keep cool, that that spot might not work too well for you. Once the amp overheats is shuts down and you have to wait for it to cool down. This could take a while in your confinded space.
However, there are some class D amps. These do not overheat. Thats what I would recommend in that spot (unless you already bought the amp). Most class Ds are mono channel though

What kind of amp do you have? If you haven't purchased it yet, what are you trying to power? How much do you want to spend?

I mounted my amp (Rockford 800a2) underneath my box in the trunk like you said. I've had it there for over a year now, and it has never overheated.
