I'm not into the heavy pounding systems, I just want an 8in sub that hits a little and is not too expensive. And a nice amp that will give it that little extra "thud."
i have a JBL 1200watt amp and a Digital Designs sub...fairly entry level amp with mega power and a competition sub in a custom ported box...if you're looking for cheap entry level sound quality, check out Alpine, Infinity and Rockford Fosgate from ikesound.com
Where do you plan on putting your sub? Do you have t-tops? Or just wanna retain your storage space? Check out Subthump's stealth box. It makes use of otherwise unused space! If your only buying a single entry level sub and amp, I recommend just checking out your local Best Buy or Circuit City. There isin't really enough money to be saved by buying over the net. Check out the Alpine Type-S or Type-R. Or even the Rockford Fosgate HE2 line. Do you already have an aftermarket CD player? Does it have RCA outputs? Do you have the Monsoon or Bose system?
an Alpine typeR 12 from bestbuy is 220, and it's 115 from ikesound.com and they have FREE shipping and AWESOME service...not enough $ to be saved over the net you say??

Hehehehe There are ALWAYS some exceptions. Ikesound is a great site. I don't care what anybody says about them. :D
